Ives Pool Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy
Western Sonoma County Swimmers (WSCS) is committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive and supportive environment for all pool users and staff, and to providing a healthy and safe environment free of discrimination and harassment. Preventing discrimination and harassment begins with respect and adherence to the law and our policies. Therefore, WSCS prohibits discrimination against individuals on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, political ideology, gender, gender expression, age, pregnancy, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran or family status, or any other status or condition protected by applicable state or federal laws in connection with any of Ives Pool programs or activities in a manner that creates a hostile environment for any members of the Ives Pool community.
Verbal, physical, sexual or any other form of harassment that belittles or demeans any individual on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, political ideology, gender, gender expression, age, pregnancy, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran or family status, or any other status or condition protected by applicable state or federal laws is also strictly prohibited. Prohibited harassment includes conduct that has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with a member’s experience or creating an environment that is hostile, intimidating or offensive.
The following actions are considered harassment and are strictly prohibited: sexual advances; physical conduct of a sexual nature; sexual or racial jokes; racial, ethnic, national origin, or disability slurs; and other harassing language or conduct that is meant to intimidate or that negatively impacts the experience of Ives Pool users and staff.
To promote equality, WSCS will provide all pool services, programs and personnel hiring, procedures and training without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, political ideology, gender, gender expression, age, pregnancy, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran or family status, or any other status or condition protected by applicable state or federal laws. This policy applies to all users of Ives Pool-sponsored activities no matter their authority or position. WSCS also requires that all vendors and contractors similarly adhere to strict non-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
Incidents of harassment and discrimination will be met with appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, expulsion and/or termination of pool usage.
